Whit Merrifield
Whit Merrifield endeared himself to fans young and old last season when he made his MLB debut. Lauded as a Ben Zobrist-ish player who could play anywhere on the field, he provided an immediate spark to the Kansas City Royals.
“Two-Hit Whit” soon became both a nickname and the expectation as he tore through his first month in the Major Leagues and he even took the lead-off spot from Alcides Escobar.
Given his nickname, Whit’s proposed song is ‘It Takes Two’ by Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock.
Hopefully, Whit Merrifield picks up where he left off last season and provides both a high on-base percentage and a solid glove at second base. If the projected second baseman can get two hits a game in his second year, the song will be even more fitting.
