Kansas City Royals baseball is approaching rapidly and that’s music to our ears. What music should the players use as they approach the plate?

Everybody loves a good walk-up song (Warning: Not all of these will be good). It’s as much a part of the game as peanuts and crackerjacks or beer and hot dogs if that’s more your style.

Fans learn early what their favorite players are using for walk-up music and they all know who’s coming to the plate when the music starts. Will Ferrell’s character Chazz Michael Michaels in Blades of Glory sums up walk-up music perfectly: “It gets the people going!”

It should be noted now, not all of these songs selected are meant to get anybody going. They’re more selected to try and fit something about the player. That could be inspired by a nickname, what they mean to the team, things they’ve done, etc.

I’m also only pitching music to the starting lineup that I proposed last week. Here’s a reminder of what that proposed lineup looked like:

  1. Whit Merrifield
  2. Mike Moustakas
  3. Lorenzo Cain
  4. Eric Hosmer
  5. Brandon Moss
  6. Jorge Soler
  7. Salvador Perez
  8. Alcides Escobar
  9. Alex Gordon

Alright, now that the explanation is out of the way, let’s get to the music!
