RANKING EVERY CHIEFS GAME FROM 2016 SEASON: NUMBER 1: WEEK 12 WIN VS BRONCOS (30-27 WIN IN OVERTIME)

The best game of the 2016 season had to be the Kansas City Chiefs’ week 12 victory against the Denver Broncos.

This game had it all, from being televised on Sunday Night Football, to Justin Houston‘s triumphant return, to an overtime walk-off win for the good guys, this game will go down as one of the best in recent years.

It was a game that had everything you could ask for and the Chiefs finally overcame their Sunday Night Football struggles.

Houston had three sacks on Trevor Siemian in the first half alone and likely would have had more had the refs not ignored him getting held in the second half.

The defense took over for the early part of the game, but after Houston sacked Siemian in the end zone for a safety, the Chiefs special teams did their part. Tyreek Hill took the ensuing safety kick down the field for a touchdown to give Kansas City a 9-0 lead on primetime television.

Hill introduced himself to the country in this game, recording a special teams touchdown, a receiving touchdown, and a rushing touchdown. He was one of the stars of the game for sure.

The Broncos would go on to put up two touchdowns in the fourth quarter and the game looked like it was over. That was the old KC Chiefs though. The new KC Chiefs were all about the comeback and we saw super good Alex Smith lead the offense down the field.

Not only did the Chiefs score a touchdown on that drive, but Smith converted with Demetrius Harris (OF ALL PEOPLE) on the two-point try to tie things up and send the game to overtime.

In overtime, the Broncos and Chiefs would trade field goals and then Gary Kubiak opted to have Brandon McManus attempt a 62-yard field goal. McManus missed it by a mile and the Chiefs would then see Cairo Santos’ attempt from 34 yards out barely scrape through the uprights.

It was a game that had everything you could ask for and the Chiefs finally overcame their Sunday Night Football struggles. Fans finally got to see their guys talking to Michelle Tafoya after the game for the game balls.

This was hands down the best football game of the regular season.
