Kansas City Royals Release New Slogan for 2017 Season

The Kansas City Royals used the “Forever Royal” slogan for two straight seasons and it was time for a new one. They unveiled the new slogan for the 2017 season before the Super Bowl and it’s about growing up as a Royals fan.

“Raised Royal”, the slogan for the KC Royals‘ 2017 campaign, was released before the Super Bowl and is all about encouraging the fan base to share their stories about growing up with the Kansas City Royals.

Personally, I’m glad to finally see a new slogan released. Forever Royal meant a lot to the organization and to the fans, but we need something new. Raised Royal is a good one because it brings out the people who grew up with this team.

The “Our Time” slogan years ago was so silly because that’s back when the Royals were so bad. The optimism was always nice, but I remember going to a t-shirt Tuesday and getting that shirt and hearing people crack jokes about it.

This slogan is great though and the Royals are already doing their best to get Royals Nation involved in promoting it. They’re encouraging fans to share their stories about how they were raised with the Royals and are going to be doing some cool things between now and the beginning of the 2017 season.

One involves being able to create a meme that proves you were “Raised Royal”. There have been some pretty funny ones throughout social media, but it’s cool to see the team actively seeking to get the fan base fired up about this theme.

The team will also be putting up billboards and murals all around Kansas City and at one point will be distributing Raised Royal flags. The proceeds for the flags will support Royals charities and will be something you can hang up in your home for a long time to come.

I like that the Royals are taking a page out of the Kansas City Chiefs’ book with the flag idea. I have all three of my Chiefs Kingdom flags from the past three years and can’t wait to finally get a Royals related one.

All in all, I like this slogan.

As a kid, I remember how obsessed my dad was with the Royals. Back then, people still used VCRs to record things and my dad would record every single Royals game. My brothers and I would tease him for it, but he’d always insist that the Royals would be good every upcoming season.

My dad is the reason why I’m a fan of the Kansas City Royals and going to the playoff games with him in 2014 and 2015 were some really special times for me.
