Latif Blessing – Winger/Forward
There isn’t any new Sporting KC player that I am more excited to see than Latif Blessing. The young (potential) star is coming to Kansas City from Ghana where he set the local soccer scene on fire. As a member of Liberty Professionals, Blessing would lead the Ghana Premier League in goals scored. His efforts earned him the Ghana Football Association’s best player of the league award.
It is unknown just how much of an impact Latif Blessing will have with Sporting KC. It’s always difficult to tell how players from smaller countries will do on a bigger stage. However, the 20 year old is coming with a lot of hype to his name. Certainly, KC could use some more goal scoring power to put pressure on opponents. At the very least, Blessing should help in that area.
If Sporting KC can get even half of Latif Blessing’s production from last year, it will be a worthwhile investment. Sporting needs to get their young guys producing as early as possible to take the pressure off of some of the older stars in the lineup. The more they can get from someone like Latif Blessing, the better.
