As Sporting KC gets started with their preseason program, it’s time to take a look at the top ten players to watch for the 2017 campaign.

After a disappointing stretch over the past few years, Sporting KC has made moves this offseason to get back to the top. The most successful professional sports team in Kansas City isn’t content with just getting to the playoffs. No, soccer in KC is all about winning championships. Frankly, this team has more than enough talent to be doing that.

With US Men’s National Team (USMNT) members, international prospects, and a number of quality role players, there is no reason Sporting KC can’t compete. In fact, this is a team that should figure to be in the title mix nearly every year. Even the recent “down” years have resulted in postseason appearances.

So that means Kansas City fans should be even more excited about the upcoming 2017 campaign. The club has gone out and gotten aggressive in going after players who will help push them over the top. That is the kind of attitude that will bring championships.

It’s an interesting roster for Sporting KC this year. From top to bottom there is talent. However, some players are going to be more interesting to keep an eye on than others.
