Yordano Ventura’s life was cut short and it sucks. Fans are still trying to process the loss of their ace and hopefully the Royals honor Ventura in a special way on their Opening Day this season.

Looking at Yordano Ventura’s stats and knowing that no more will be added really sucks. The kid was just 25 years old and hadn’t even hit his peak yet.

We’d seen flashes of greatness from Yordano Ventura and those flashes showed just what kind of pitcher he could be. He wanted to be the greatest to ever play the game of baseball and he showed that every time he took the mound for a start.

From his debut late in the 2013 season to his outstanding performance in Game 6 of the 2014 World Series that kept the Royals in the running for one more night, Ventura never backed down from the spotlight.

Even in moments where Ventura let his emotions get the best of him and fought with opposing teams, Royals fans loved him. He was our Ace and we’ll never get to see him transform into one of the best pitchers in all of Major League Baseball.

Rest in peace, Yordano. We’re all going to miss you. Throw fire in heaven.
