COMPLETE GAME – September 19th, 2016

In one of the final starts of his young career, Yordano Ventura pitched his first complete game. It came against the Chicago White Sox in the last month of the Royals’ season.

This start against the White Sox was a game that Royals fans took joy in seeing.

The 2016 season was a disappointment for Royals fans, but Ventura’s complete game three-run gem against Chicago was a big bright spot for sure. In this particular game, Ventura only needed 106 pitches to record all 27 outs and he showed flashes of why he earned the nickname “Ace”.

The final two games after this saw Ventura give up three runs and four runs respectively, but he went four innings and six innings in those two starts. This start against the White Sox was a game that Royals fans took joy in seeing.

Fans thought this would be the first of many complete games we’d see Ventura throw, but sadly, it was his first and only.

Ventura had another great game against the White Sox when he struck out ten batters against them on June 12th. He pitched seven innings and allowed one run in that ten-strikeout performance.

Owning the White Sox is always a beautiful thing. Thanks for that, Yo.
