New Names To Watch

I don’t claim to know every single prospect the Kansas City Chiefs should be watching. So when I find a new guy that catches my eye, I’ll give him a look. Here are some guys that have impressed me enough to get on the draft board.

Haason Reddick – OLB – Temple: Haason Reddick might be the hottest name at the Senior Bowl right now. Everyone is loving the work he is putting in. Reddick is routinely beating his competition and is showing a very solid and well-rounded skill set. I don’t have OLB as a need for the Chiefs, but I wouldn’t be mad at them for bringing in Reddick.

Obi Melifonwu – S – Connecticut: The safety class looks good for this year’s draft, but Obi Melfonwu is still inserting his name into the conversation. The UConn star is showcasing a nose for the ball and some solid playmaking skills so far. I don’t know that he’s a direct fit if the Chiefs have to replace Eric Berry, but he’s got the talent to be in the mix.

Michael Roberts – TE – Toledo: There may not have been any prospect to do more for himself the past two weeks than Michael Roberts. The Toledo tight end had an excellent week at the Shrine Game and has followed it up with a strong Senior Bowl. The tight end class isn’t great this year, so Roberts is really catching some eyes. He may become a Day 2 pick based off his recent work.
