The 2017 Senior Bowl will be taking place this weekend, and the Kansas City Chiefs have a number of promising prospects to check out.

We are firmly into the Kansas City Chiefs 2017 offseason schedule, and one of the big events is the annual Senior Bowl game. Here at KC Kingdom, we’ve been tracking a lot of potential Chiefs draft prospects, many of whom are at the Senior Bowl. With the game set to take place on Saturday, here is our preview of what to watch, and a recap of what happened at practice this week.

The postseason college all star games are a bit of a different way to approach football. Oddly enough, the games themselves mean very little. It is actually the week of practice that is what scouts are focusing on. It’s a chance for NFL personnel to get a glimpse into the work ethic and football character of the players they are watching.

This week, I have been tracking 20 players, ten on both offense and defense, to see what it is the scouts are saying. For some of these players, this is the most exposure they have gotten as prospects. That is especially true of small school athletes who don’t have a lot of readily available game tape to review.

Another aspect of the Senior Bowl is that a lot of the top prospects will actually pass on attending. There are various reasons for this, but the end result is that you get better exposure to that next level of talent. A lot of players who will be taken in the middle rounds are getting their chance right here.

So who had a good week, and what can we expect when the North and South teams take the field?
