MOST DISAPPOINTING CHIEFS IN 2016 – NUMBER 10: DEE FORD

After two failed seasons as a pro, it was looking more and more likely that Dee Ford would go down as one of the biggest Chiefs draft busts of all-time. Instead, he started to show some juice, and at one point, led the NFL in sacks this season.

The Chiefs used a first-round draft pick on this guy and he still hasn’t been able to perform at a consistent level.

That faded quickly though and in the last half of the season, Dee Ford became invisible once again.

Ford played in all but one game this season and definitely showed that he was capable of being a dominant pass rusher. The reason he makes the list as a disappointment is because his sack on Cam Newton in week ten would be his final sack of the season.

Ford had great games (especially his three and a half sack performance against the Colts), but him just vanishing in the last six games of the season shows concern for sure. The Chiefs used a first-round draft pick on this guy and he still hasn’t been able to perform at a consistent level.

The reason he’s only tenth on here is because he did blow his first two seasons out of the water as far as stats go. His ten sacks recorded in 2016 were more than his first two seasons combined, so it shows that Ford has potential. He just needs to play like that consistently and not just against bad teams.
