MOST DISAPPOINTING CHIEFS IN 2016 – NUMBER 1: JEREMY MACLIN

The biggest disappointment in 2016 was Jeremy Maclin, who was signed to the Chiefs during the 2015 free agency period and generated a lot of buzz during that time. Maclin chose to come to Kansas City to return home and be reunited with Andy Reid.

That meant a lot to Chiefs fans, and Maclin backed it up with a stellar 2015 campaign in which he had over 1,000 yards receiving along with eight trips into the end zone.

After finding the end zone eight times last year, Maclin only had two touchdowns this season.

This season, however, was the worst of Maclin’s entire career, going back to his time in Philadelphia. Maclin missed four games due to a groin injury and had a career-low in receiving yards with 536. His previous low was 773 during his rookie season in 2009.

After finding the end zone eight times last year, Maclin only had two touchdowns this season. It was just a rough year for the former Missouri Tiger and the KC Chiefs need him to bounce back in 2017 if they want to remain relevant in the AFC West.

I have faith that Jeremy Maclin can find his groove again in 2017. He looked to be getting back on track with a nice game against the Titans and two nice grabs against the Steelers in the playoffs.

If Maclin can’t get back to his good level of play, this could end up being a big free agent bust for Kansas City.
