Ugly: Pass Rush

My oh my was this ugly to watch or what? The Chiefs had one measly sack on Ben Roethlisberger, but should have had more.

Houston didn’t make an impact in this game and that caps off a disappointing season for the most expensive guy on the team.

Time and time again, the Chiefs defense couldn’t get any pressure on Big Ben and he’d be able to get a completion down the field and keep the Steelers drive going.

All season long the Chiefs have struggled with getting pressure on the quarterback, but I thought maybe with Justin Houston coming back that they’d have a shot at making Ben uncomfortable. Houston didn’t make an impact in this game and that caps off a disappointing season for the most expensive guy on the team.

The Chiefs used to dominate at sacking the quarterback, but this was a bad year for their pass rush. Dee Ford fell off down the stretch of the season (though he and Jarvis Jenkins registered half a sack in this game) and Houston never quite got to full health except for that Denver game in week 12.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens in the draft regarding the pass rush. Will the Chiefs go with a linebacker early on to address this problem?
