Kansas City Chiefs: A Team Not Even At Its Peak Yet
By Ben Almquist
Jamaal Charles
The Kansas City Chiefs running game just isn’t the same without Jamaal Charles in the backfield. Earlier, I explained how the loss of guard Parker Ehinger was a big deal. That is true. However, I don’t think there is a single Chiefs fan out there that would doubt the ability of Charles to overcome the loss of a blocker. I mean…the man has been doing it for years.
There are those who believe that Jamaal Charles and the Chiefs are soon to break up. There are some who think it should happen immediately. However, I foresee the KC brass extending some courtesy and good will to the star running back for all he has done for the organization over the years. At the very least, he should get a chance to bounce back as a Chief.

If Jamaal Charles can return at even 80% of the player he was, the Chiefs have an effective starting running back. Less than that and he can still be a quality rotational back. Of course, if KC can finally have things fall their way and get Jamaal Charles back at 100% health and ability, he’ll light the league on fire in an epic swan song to close out his career.
