ALEX SMITH ENDED THE YEAR ON FIRE

Not literally, of course, but Alex Smith was quite good to close out the season. In a mostly down year for the Chiefs quarterback (though he did throw for the most yards in his Chiefs career), he was on point in the last two games of the season.

It’s safe to say that the Steelers are definitely aware of Smith’s ability to take off with the football and get the crucial first down.

Smith threw for over 200 yards against the Broncos and the Chargers in weeks 16 and 17 and looked ready to lead an offense in the playoffs. Just those two games alone saw Smith going 46 of 64 for 508 yards and three touchdowns. He threw two picks during that span as well, which hopefully won’t be an issue in the playoffs.

Smith has also started to make plays with his legs again, rushing for 67 yards and two touchdowns in the past two weeks. He’s had five rushing scores on the season and it’s safe to say that the Steelers are definitely aware of Smith’s ability to take off with the football and get the crucial first down.

If Alex Smith can play how he’s been playing during the last two weeks, then the Chiefs are going to be a dangerous team in the playoffs.
