New Orleans Saints

Another check in the box for the Kansas City Chiefs was the high-powered New Orleans Saints passing game. Nine times this past season, the Saints were able to hang 30+ points on their opponents. The Chiefs would hold them to just 21 points and controlled the game for most of the afternoon.

The Saints second scoring drive didn’t come until late in the third quarter of this game. Their third and final scoring drive didn’t happen until late in the fourth. So despite some gaudy numbers by Drew Brees, New Orleans never really posed much of a threat to the Chiefs.

This was one of the first games to truly drive Chiefs fans nuts in 2016. Don’t get me wrong, fans were upset with previous losses, but this was different. KC seemed to play conservative in the second half of many games, and this was definitely one of them. The Chiefs showed the ability to dominate early on against the Saints, but then seemingly backed off. Hopefully, that isn’t something they do this week.
