Atlanta Falcons

If we want to talk about the Kansas City Chiefs beating a good offense, this seems like an ideal place to start. Despite a strong record, the Chiefs were still not getting much love from NFL pundits. Sure they had beaten the Raiders, Colts, and Broncos…but they had also barely beaten the Panthers and Jaguars. Well, KC was about to go out and earn some respect.

The Falcons were one of the most well rounded offenses in the NFL his year. First in points per game, fifth in rushing yards per game, and third in passing yards per game. It’s hard to find another offense that performed as consistently well as Atlanta did this year. However, the Chiefs defense wasn’t afraid.

In fact, it would be big plays by that defense that won the game for the Chiefs. Namely an intercepted 2-point conversion by Eric Berry that was returned for the game winning points. It was Berry’s second trip to the endzone in the game. While many will say that the game was won on a “lucky play”, it should be pointed out that the Chiefs had kept the game close enough for those two points to matter.
