KU basketball defeated the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Saturday afternoon. It was an important game for the Jayhawks and one that moved to them 3-0 in Big 12 play on the season.

Moving up the all-time list

Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!!

The Jayhawks won 85-68 and by doing so, hit a special mark. On Saturday, the Kansas Jayhawks won the 2,220th game in the program’s storied history. They are second all-time in NCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball wins, trailing only Kentucky. KU basketball currently trails Kentucky by 17 wins.

The win is also their 48th straight victory at home. Texas Tech kept the game close for much of the first half until Kansas went on a late run to get a little breathing room.

The second half started pretty much the way the first half did with the two teams remaining in close proximity before KU salted away the game late. The Hawks went on a 12-0 run to turn a five point lead into a 17 point lead.

This four guard lineup is tough for opponents to handle because of the versatility it gives Coach Self. Three back-court players finished with 17+ points with Frank Mason leading the way with 26 points.
