Week 9 – Chiefs Vs Jaguars

Chiefs won 19-14 (My prediction: 31-10, Chiefs)

Heading into 2016, a lot of people (myself included) had picked the Jacksonville Jaguars to finally turn the corner and be a contender in the AFC. I picked the Jaguars to make the playoffs as a Wild Card in 2016.

Yeah, I’ll admit when I was wrong and I was WAY wrong about the Jaguars this season. Blake Bortles never quite “got it” and the offense suffered as a result. The Jaguars did, however, make this game against the KC Chiefs much closer than it should have been.

Yeah, I’ll admit when I was wrong and I was WAY wrong about the Jaguars this season.

In week nine, Nick Foles started for the Chiefs due to the concussion or not concussion to Alex Smith the week prior. Foles was not great in this game, completing 20 passes out of 33 attempts for 187 yards and a touchdown.

"This game is the definition of a trap game on the schedule."

The Chiefs defense did work in this game, picking off Blake Bortles once and causing Chris Ivory to fumble in the end zone. They also forced T.J. Yeldon to fumble, and all three of those turnovers proved to be the difference in this game.

This was also the game in which Travis Kelce got ejected for throwing a towel at the referee. It’s okay to laugh about it now, but I wasn’t laughing when it actually happened. Kelce could have very easily cost his team the game.

Or the bad display of offense could have cost the team the game… Either way. Maybe Jacksonville will turn the corner next season, which would be fine with me since they won’t play the Chiefs in the regular season in 2017.

Chiefs: 6-2 (Leigh: 6-2)
