Week 8 – Chiefs at Colts

Chiefs won 30-14 (My prediction: 35-31, Colts)

For years, the Chiefs had been getting their hearts broken by the stupid Indianapolis Colts, most notably in the playoffs a few years ago. That game does not need to be spoken of again now, as the Chiefs got their revenge on the Horse Shoes this season.

I think had this game been at Arrowhead, I probably would have picked the Chiefs, but the Colts are always going to be one of those teams that scare me.

For all of the comebacks the Colts had on the Chiefs (or just flat out manhandling them), I didn’t see things going Kansas City’s way in this game. Andrew Luck is a great quarterback even without having all of the tools to succeed. Can you imagine how good Luck could be with a line and receivers like Oakland’s?

Luck also had yet to lose a game to Kansas City during his four-year career, so that played into my prediction as well.

This game was eventful, but not particularly because of the game itself. Alex Smith suffered a concussion (maybe?) in this one and Nick Foles had to play the rest of the game. Fans finally got see Foles in action and he looked great against a horrendous Colts secondary.

"The Chiefs are definitely the more talented team between the two, but the Colts have a tremendous quarterback taking snaps. Luck has already gone 3-0 against Kansas City in just four seasons, and I see that improving to 4-0 after this year."

I think had this game been at Arrowhead, I probably would have picked the Chiefs, but the Colts are always going to be one of those teams that scare me. Even if they’re 2-7 and atrocious, they’re always going to be a potential spoiler-type team to Chiefs fans.

We have the history to prove it, after all. I’m glad I was wrong on this prediction though and defeating the Colts for the first time sine 2011 felt good.

Chiefs: 5-2 (Leigh: 5-2)
