KC Chiefs: Looking Back at Regular Season Schedule Predictions

You know it’s funny… I predicted the Kansas City Chiefs to go 9-7 this season and they ended up going 12-4. I, on the other hand, went 9-7 with my picks and now look like a big ol’ dummy. That’s karma, my friends.

I’m okay with being wrong on my predictions this season because I said the Chiefs would do worse than how they really did! The season prior, I picked them to go 12-4, win the West, and go far in the playoffs, but they were a Wild Card team and only made it past that one round.

That was considered a success for the Chiefs because winning a playoff game was something that needed to be accomplished. The Chiefs needed to get that monkey off their back and now that they’ve checked that box, Kansas City can focus on making a deep playoff run.

Perhaps that playoff run could end with a Super Bowl appearance, perhaps it won’t, but there’s no doubt that this season has been one of the most exciting in Chiefs history.

I will say that if the Kansas City Chiefs want to win a Super Bowl, this year is their best chance. The AFC (minus the one-seeded Patriots) is fairly weak, and the Chiefs have to take advantage of that.

We’ll see what happens in the coming weeks, but the 2016 Chiefs season was one for the books!
