Chiefs at Chargers

Chiefs won 37-27 (My prediction: 10-7, Chargers)

For whatever reason, I picked against Kansas City in the final week of the season. To be fair, it looked like the Bolts might pull off the upset early in this game.

Part of my reasoning for picking San Diego in this game was that I thought the Chiefs would be in a position where they’d need to rest their starters for the playoffs.

The Raiders were trailing to Denver early in their game, which had to continue to happen if the Chiefs wanted the division crown. I predicted that it would come down to this game for the Chiefs to win the division, and I was right about that.

"The Chiefs miss out on sweeping San Diego for the third straight season, and the Chargers play spoiler to the Chiefs winning the AFC West."

After a close first half, the Chiefs began to break away in the third quarter when Tyreek Hill returned a punt 95 yards down the field for a huge touchdown. A Cairo Santos field goal in the fourth quarter basically put the game away, and Chiefs Kingdom watched with huge interest as the Raiders continued to get walloped by Denver.

Part of my reasoning for picking San Diego in this game was that I thought the Chiefs would be in a position where they’d need to rest their starters for the playoffs. If that was the case, I still think the Chiefs could have defeated the Chargers in this one… San Diego was not good this season.

With this victory and the Raiders losing in Denver, the Kansas City Chiefs went on to win the AFC West for the first time in six years. Congrats to all of us who stuck by their side! WE DESERVE THIS.

Chiefs: 12-4 (Leigh: 9-7)
