KC Chiefs: Looking Back at Regular Season Schedule Predictions
Week 11 – Chiefs Vs Buccaneers
Chiefs lost 19-17 (My prediction: 24-7, Chiefs)
Every time the Kansas City Chiefs play on my birthday, they lose. Two years ago it was on Thursday Night Football against the Raiders and this year it was against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
"While I do think this game could be closer than fans would expect, it’s a game that the KC Chiefs absolutely HAVE to win."
I had high hopes for Tampa Bay heading into 2016 and predicted them to make the playoffs, but for some reason, I saw this game as an easy victory for the Chiefs. Sometimes I don’t make any sense.
Considering that Kansas City won a lot of games they should have lost, I’d say it’s okay that they lost some games they should have won.
I didn’t take into account that Jameis Winston would have a great second season and that everyone around him would get better as well. The Buccaneers were rolling at this point in the season, and this victory saw them then go on a five-game winning streak. They narrowly missed the playoffs, however.
The deal breaker in this game was an interception that Smith threw in the end zone. Had the Chiefs scored there, they likely would have won the game and continued to roll.
Considering that Kansas City won a lot of games they should have lost (San Diego, Carolina, Denver the first time, Atlanta, etc.), I’d say it’s okay that they lost some games they should have won. They did win the division after all.
It still would have calmed all of our nerves had the Chiefs pulled this victory off and not had to wait until week 17 to clinch the division.
Most people probably had this chalked up as a Chiefs victory too, so I don’t feel too terribly stupid about this game. I said the Buccaneers would be good, so I had that going for me at least.
