The KC Chiefs finished off their 2016 campaign with a 12-4 record and an AFC West division crown. It was a fun season for Chiefs Kingdom and certainly one we’ll all remember.

Before the regular season began, I predicted the result of every single game that was going to be played this season. I thought it might be fun to go back and re-visit those predictions and see just how off I was.

I’ll go through each game this season with the actual score, my predicted score, and then will take a quote that I said in my original article that reflects how I felt about the opposing team before the season began. Those are likely going to make me look stupid, but hey… I don’t mind.

We’ll start from the first game of the year, which was a very exciting one for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Week 1 – Chiefs Vs Chargers

Chiefs won 33-27 in overtime (My prediction: 17-10, Chiefs)

Heading into the 2016 season, I was a little nervous about the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the San Diego Chargers. The Chiefs had swept the Chargers in the past two seasons and I was just really worried that Kansas City would slip up early and have a slow start to their season.

Had Keenan Allen not gone down with an injury, the Chargers would have been on their way to a blowout victory over the potential Super Bowl contenders.

I predicted the Chiefs to win, but thought it’d be a close game. I had no idea what was about to happen though.

"This game makes me nervous. Sure, it’s at Arrowhead and the Chargers are nowhere near as talented as the Chiefs are, but still. It’s week one and anything can happen in week one."

When the game began, the KC Chiefs looked lost. Their offense was bad, their defense was getting torched, and it was 21-3 at half time. Fans were losing faith in the team and it was only the season opener.

Had Keenan Allen not gone down with an injury, the Chargers would have been on their way to a blowout victory over the potential Super Bowl contenders. Fans would have been done with the season before it even began.

Somehow, someway, the Chiefs slowly came back in this game and eventually forced overtime. It was the biggest comeback in Kansas City Chiefs history, and a game that Chiefs Kingdom wouldn’t forget.

I said this game would be close and I was right. I was also right in predicting the Chiefs to win. Go me!

Chiefs: 1-0 (Leigh: 1-0)
