Knile Davis – KR

The Kansas City Chiefs have used Tyreek Hill as a kick returner only part of the time this year. The rest of the opportunities have gone to running back Knile Davis. Davis has excelled as a kick returner during his time in the NFL. That includes a very memorable return against the Houston Texans in last year’s Wild Card game.

Knile Davis also had a strong performance as a kick returner against the Patriots in last year’s divisional playoff game. Though the Chiefs lost that game, Davis averaged 30 yards per return on kickoffs. That is an impressive showing against a normally stout group.

With the Patriots opting to kick short much of this year, Davis could give them problems. He has explosive speed that can get him through the first wave of defenders quickly. If that happens, he could be off to the races with very few people on the field that can keep up with him. Dave Toub knows how to scheme his blocks, so expect there to be an opportunity or two.
