B+. . . . OFFENSIVE LINE

The Kansas City Chiefs offensive line is looking like they’re finding their groove.

In the last two games, the line has only allowed one sack on Alex Smith and has kept him upright for most of the game(s). They’ve also done a better job at creating holes for the run game, and the running backs have looked much better as a result.

When Parker Ehinger went down against the Colts, I was worried that this line might have injury problems again, but the core of Eric Fisher, Zach Fulton, Mitch Morse, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, and Mitchell Schwartz has really impressed me.

Now can they continue to play this well in the huge games? I’ll be eager to see. They’ll need to protect Smith and give him time to make plays in order for this team to go anywhere. That’s just football common sense.

B+. . . . RUN GAME

The run game was finally decent! Sure, they weren’t flashy, but they made enough big plays to keep the offense rolling.

The running game ended the day with 103 yards on 31 rushes. Charcandrick West led the way with 58 yards on 16 carries, but really shone in the receiving game, pulling in two touchdowns from Smith.

With Spencer Ware not active in this game, I hoped to see something from West and he showed that he could do enough to push the football down the field and keep the offensive drive going.
