At TCU Horned Frogs (11-1) – Friday, December 30th, 2016

The Horned Frogs are led in scoring by their point guard Alex Robinson with 10.8 points per game. TCU is easily one of the biggest surprises in all of college basketball this season. I know it’s still early, but they’ve been really bad over the last few seasons.

This game could be a low scoring defensive grind it out affair, which will be different from the KU/TCU match-ups of old.

Kansas is 12-1 all time against TCU though, and the lone loss came in embarrassing fashion during TCU’s first year in the Big 12. Don’t expect that to happen again on Friday night though it could be a much tougher competition than fans are expecting.

Head Coach Jamie Dixon has vastly improved his team for the 2016-2017 season. Ranked 27th in RPI, according to ESPN, they are not an opponent Kansas can afford to look past . Oh, not to mention that the Horned Frogs have a perfect 9-0 record on their home court.

The Jayhawks will have to make sure they box out, as junior guard Kenrich Williams comes in averaging ten rebounds per game. This game could be a low scoring defensive grind it out affair, which will be different from the KU/TCU match-ups of old.

TCU allows 63.3 points per game, but the Jayhawks are taller and faster. I’ll be interested to watch how Carlton Bragg Jr. handles TCU’s Karviar Shepherd.

Prediction: KU basketball wins 68-59
