Third Down: Demetrius Harris Sucks…No Wait…Now He’s Awesome
When he first came to the Kansas City Chiefs, tight end Demetrius Harris was an instant hit with fans on the internet. Here was a basketball player turned NFL tight end, just like Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, and Jimmy Graham. However, the law of averages caught up, and it turned out that some of these basketball players wouldn’t be dominant right away, if at all.
Demetrius Harris has not lit the NFL on fire. He is very much still a developmental player who has things to learn. It’s evident when he’s on the field. There are mental mistakes being made. However, on the whole, the Chiefs have a quality athlete who has started playing some pretty solid football. Occasionally, he will even come through with a huge play.

"Why is Demetrius Harris even on this team? OH MY GOD!!! DEMETRIUS HARRIS WITH THE TD FROM POE!!!!"
Plain and simple, Demetrius Harris dropped what should have been a touchdown. It was a perfect throw from Alex Smith, and Harris just let it get into his chest. There is no excuse for that. However, apart from that bad drop, Harris actually had a very solid game and was the second leading receiver for the Chiefs. That includes his role in one of the greatest plays we’ll ever remember.
