UGLY: PENALTIES

While the Broncos actually had more penalties than Kansas City, a lot of those came near the end of the game for Denver, when they knew their season was over. The Broncos were visibly frustrated at the end of the game and were getting flags thrown on them right and left.

While those penalties didn’t end up doing much damage, it was frustrating to see the offense getting false start penalties or the defense getting dumb roughing the passer calls.

Before that, however, the Chiefs were constantly getting flags thrown, and ended the day with eight penalties for 65 yards.

While those penalties didn’t end up doing much damage, it was frustrating to see the offense getting false start penalties or the defense getting dumb roughing the passer calls. That hit on Siemian that moved the Broncos clear up into their own red zone was a stupid, stupid hit for Jones (I think it was him?).

The Chiefs were lucky that the penalty ended up with the Broncos not being able to get the hold down on their field goal attempt. Brandon McManus had to attempt to run for a first down and failed miserably.

That pretty much was the dagger for Denver in this one, but the bad penalty very easily could have given the Broncos all of the momentum in the world to keep themselves alive in the playoff hunt.
