BAD: RUN GAME (ASIDE FROM HILL’S RUN)

The run game was once again pretty non-existent, though we did see Tyreek Hill serve a new role as a running back rather than a wide receiver.

Hill showcased that new role by taking the football 70 yards down the field for a touchdown.

Other than that, however, the run game was bad against a bad Broncos run defense, which is even more concerning.

I feel like I say this every week, but the run game has to improve or defenses are going to pick apart this offense.

The Chiefs numbers on the ground looked okay, with over 200 yards, but 70 of those were from Hill’s big play. The other big runs came from Alex Smith, who rushed for 46 yards on the day.

Hell, Smith had 16 less rushing yards than Spencer Ware and nine less attempts. Ware finished the night with 13 carries for 62 yards.

Charcandrick West has continued to be a disappointment this year, touching the football 14 times for a measly 35 yards. At least it matched his jersey number I guess.

I feel like I say this every week, but the run game has to improve or defenses are going to pick apart this offense. They’ll sniff out screen plays and force Smith to throw the football deep.

It was nice, however, to see some big run plays, especially the one from Hill, which was an electrifying run from the rookie.
