GOOD: DEFENSE

How great was the KC Chiefs defense on Christmas night? For one, they made Trevor Siemian look like how we all thought Trevor Siemian was going to be when the season began.

Siemian was held to just 17 completions for 183 yards and was picked off in the final seconds of the game. He was not good in this game.

There will be another defensive aspect listed on the good section, so I’ll just stick to the basics.

The defense managed to hold Denver to just ten points. Honestly – the Broncos were having trouble moving the football all night and were it not for that early interception recovery, I doubt they’d have made it into the end zone at all.

It was nice to see the defensive unit as a whole come together and hold the opponents to just ten points. They also forced three turnovers on the Broncos’ last three possessions. All three of those Denver turnovers led to points for Kansas City and made this game a blowout in the end.

Three out of four of the top-rated Chiefs by Pro Football Focus were defensive players, with rookie Chris Jones leading the way.

Let’s hope this is the defense that continues to show up down the stretch because man oh man… They’re pretty dang good.
