Mitchell and Peters vs Sanders and Thomas

When the Kansas City Chiefs made the trip to Denver a few weeks ago, the Broncos made a late push by lighting it up through the air. Emmanuel Sanders essentially had his way with Chiefs defender Phillip Gaines. Well, it now appears that Gaines will be taking a back seat to Terrance Mitchell, who has come on strong in recent weeks.

Across from Terrance Mitchell will be Marcus Peters, of course. This is a much better match up for the Chiefs than what we saw a few weeks ago. However, both corners will be tested as the Broncos bring one of the best wide receiver tandems in the NFL. Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas are both excellent receivers and compliment each other well.

If Mitchell and Peters can stick with Sanders and Thomas, it will give the Chiefs a decisive edge on defense. Kansas City has other areas that they need to be able to focus on, so being able to play man coverage on the outside is absolutely crucial. The pressure is on, but Terrance Mitchell and Marcus Peters have been playing extremely well over the past few weeks.
