The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to lock in their spot in the postseason with a win over the Broncos. Here are the five things to watch for.

After a tough loss to the Titans last week, the Kansas City Chiefs are in a “must win” game this week against the Denver Broncos. The Chiefs are on their first back to back trips to the postseason since 1995, and just need a win to get in. However, Kansas City still has its eyes on winning the AFC West and sit a game behind the Oakland Raiders.

This is a big game for the Chiefs, but Andy Reid has been all about stepping up ever since he came to town. Under Reid, the Chiefs have become a perennial postseason contender, they have won big games on the road, scored prime time victories, and even won a playoff game. These are all things that were largely unheard of over the past 20 years. Adding back to back trips to the playoffs and an AFC West title are next up for him.

Standing in the way are the hated Denver Broncos. The defending Super Bowl champions are playing for their own postseason life. If the Broncos lose on Sunday, they will be out of the playoff picture. That would be the first time in 13 years that both of the Super Bowl teams from the previous year failed to make the postseason. Don’t think Denver isn’t aware of that.

Sunday figures to be a very hard fought game between two teams playing for a lot, but for different reasons. If the Chiefs are going to pull this game out, they are going to have to come out on top in key match ups. The Broncos are a vulnerable team, but they are still a good one.
