The KC Chiefs return to action after a long week off and will be welcoming in the Titans to Arrowhead Stadium. Kansas City can clinch a playoff spot this weekend with a victory over the Titans, who are in the playoff hunt themselves.
With the Chiefs playing the Oakland Raiders last week, I did not write up a match-up post for the big Thursday night game due to already having one for the Chiefs and Raiders.
This week, however, it’s back to action and the last “Rating the Match-Ups” post that’ll be published for a regular season game. Sad, right? Not really, considering they’ll have at least one playoff game (assuming they win this weekend).
This was a game that early on, fans had circled on their schedules as a “trap game”. A trap game is when it’s a game that your team should win, but they end up losing under crazy circumstances.
The Titans game makes perfect sense as a trap game, as the Chiefs host this one in between two big primetime games against division rivals. It’d be easy to see how a game like this could slip through the cracks for a team like the Chiefs.
