With a primetime victory over the Oakland Raiders, the Kansas City Chiefs made a huge move in the AFC playoff race. Here is how the conference stands.

The Kansas City Chiefs won an important game this week as they knocked off division rival, the Oakland Raiders. This gave the Chiefs their second victory this season over the Raiders. However, the more important development is that this win put the Chiefs in the lead for the AFC West and the second seed in the AFC playoff picture.

The Chiefs game against the Raiders was definitely the biggest match up of the week with so much on the line. However, an almost equally important game was played between the Patriots and Ravens. There was also a key match up between the Broncos and Titans, as well as the Steelers and Bills. All in all, it was a huge weekend for the AFC playoffs.

As we get closer and closer to the end of the regular season, each game will start to matter more and more. Looking ahead at the schedule, there is someone in the NFL offices that deserves a raise for some of the games we’re going to get. That is especially true if the Chiefs keep winning their big games in exciting fashion.

The schedule moving forward continues to feature a lot of big games every week. The NFL got their scheduling right this year as almost every contender has a tough schedule ahead. This is going to be an exciting finish to the 2016 regular season, with very little being decided before Week 16 and 17.
