Bad: Run Defense

When it came to the run game, both sides of the ball were terrible for the Kansas City Chiefs. Their run defense allowed Latavius Murray to be the only playmaker for the Raiders on offense.

Murray had 22 carries and racked up 103 yards and a touchdown. He averaged 4.7 yards a carry and once again showed that he knows how to beat this Chiefs defense.

All together, the Raiders ran the football 35 times for 135 yards and the lone score.

It was surprising to me that the Raiders kept attempting to throw the football when Derek Carr was struggling and the run game was doing its thing. I’m thankful that they didn’t stick with it, but it doesn’t really make a whole lot of sense in all honesty.

With the Tennessee Titans on the horizon, a team that loves to run the football, the Chiefs run defense will have to get much better or else it could get ugly.
