Bad: Run Game

Where the hell has the run game been in the past month and a half? Ever since the first Oakland match-up in the Black Hole, Spencer Ware and the running backs on the Chiefs offense have been nearly invisible.

I’ll give it to Andy Reid this week though. He stuck with the run even when it was going nowhere.

The Chiefs ran the ball 27 times for a measly 65 yards, but it is worth noting that Charcandrick West found the end zone in the second quarter. That was his first touchdown all season.

Spencer Ware had the majority of the carries with 20 and had 56 of the team’s 65 rushing yards. This is simply not acceptable for a team that relies on their run game.

The fact that the Chiefs couldn’t get the ball rolling (literally) against the dreadful Oakland run defense, a unit who they gashed in week six, isn’t a good sign. Maybe Jamaal Charles returning will be bigger than we thought… If it does happen…
