Good: Playoff Meaning

With this win, the Chiefs went from a five-seed in the playoffs to a two-seed. That means if the season ended today, they’d have a first round bye and would host the higher seed that comes out of the Wild Card round. That’d be either Baltimore or the AFC South winner as of today.

Anyway, this was a game the Chiefs HAD to win. They’re now leading the AFC West and are 4-0 in the division. They swept the Oakland Raiders, beat the Broncos, and beat the Chargers, and now have two more games left in the division and three left overall.

All three games are important for KC. If they run the table and New England runs the table, they’re the two-seed. If they run the table and the Patriots slip up, the Chiefs could be looking at the number one seed in the AFC.

Kansas City controls their own destiny for the rest of the season. All they have to do is win out and they’ll be looking at a first round bye in the postseason. ‘Tis the goal.
