New York Mets

The Mets were considered front runners at one point in acquiring Kansas City Royals closer Wade Davis. However, the Royals have set a very high asking price and it appears New York may have balked a little bit. The latest rumors say that Kansas City is demaning top prospect Amed Rosario in exchange for Davis.

Amed Rosario is considered one of the absolute best young prospects in all of baseball. The athletic shortstop shined at the MLB Futures All-Star Game this past year. Rosario has been steadily rising through the ranks of the Mets minor league system, despite being incredibly young. He is now considered to be on the verge of breaking into the majors.

When you talk about Amed Rosario, it is his defense that jumps off the screen at you. He is a human vacuum cleaner and almost no ball is out of reach. At the plate, he has developed rather remarkably. He can still be over-aggressive and a bit fidgety in the batters box, but a lot of that is attributable to his youth. If he continues on his path of development, he has an incredibly high ceiling.
