The Royals have two of the hottest commodities on the available market right now in outfielder Lorenzo Cain and closer Wade Davis. Right now, it is Davis that teams seem to be scrambling after.
The Royals are not a rich team when it comes to acquisition power. A limited payroll in a small market puts them at an instant disadvantage in the free agent market.
