Sack City

If the Kansas City Chiefs want to slow down the Oakland Raiders offense, then they will have to put pressure on Derek Carr. So far this season, the Raiders have done an excellent job of keeping Carr on his feet. That has allowed him to frustrate opposing defenses as he has had time to find open receivers. The Chiefs must shut that down.

The bulk of the responsibility for harassing Carr is going to fall on Justin Houston and Dee Ford. The Chiefs pass rushers have been outstanding this year, and that needs to continue. If the Chiefs can frustrate Derek Carr by constantly pressuring him, they can force mistakes. They need to make Derek Carr look like his older brother David Carr once did.

The last time the Chiefs took on the Raiders, they were able to pressure Derek Carr. That led to the very mistake that I just alluded to. Kansas City needs to replicate that in order to keep the Raiders offense in check. If the Raiders can’t attack down the field, this game will be a lot easier for the Chiefs to win.
