Kansas City Chiefs: AFC Playoff Race Week 13
By Ben Almquist
AFC Playoffs: 4th Seed
Houston Texans (6-6)
While the Kansas City Chiefs are leading the Wild Card race at 9-3, the Houston Texans are currently in the playoff hunt simply be leading their division at 6-6. Hey, all you have to do is win your division to get in. Sometimes that’s just the easier route. It certainly is for the AFC South this year. Of course, the Texans are far from having this locked up just yet.
The Texans probably have the easiest remaining path to the playoffs. However, that path does include three division games, two of which are on the road. So if Houston makes it to the postseason, they will have likely done so on the strength of winning those key games. The AFC South could come down to a Week 17 contest between Houston and Tennessee.
The Texans beat the Chiefs earlier this season at Reliant Stadium. That was a bit of a “revenge” game for Houston after the beating KC put on them in the playoffs last year. If things continue as they are currently slotted, the Chiefs would return to Houston for the Wild Card game this year. I wouldn’t mind seeing Kansas City revenging the revenge.
