Kansas City Chiefs: AFC Playoff Race Week 13

The Kansas City Chiefs scored a big road victory over the Atlanta Falcons this week. This moves the Chiefs one step closer to the 2016 NFL playoffs.
In one of the most exciting games of the season, the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday. With the victory, the Chiefs are firmly in control of their playoff hopes for the 2016 season. Moving forward, the Chiefs will have plenty of opportunities to advance their position in the AFC standings.
There were several big games this weekend that had a direct bearing on the AFC playoff race. The Chiefs game against the Falcons was probably the biggest in terms of heavy hitters. However, there was a key game between the Ravens and Dolphins that led to a big change in the standings. With the Ravens victory, the Dolphins fell out of the top six AFC teams.
As we get closer and closer to the end of the regular season, each game will start to matter more and more. Looking ahead at the schedule, there is someone in the NFL offices that deserves a raise for some of the games we’re going to get. That is especially true if the Chiefs keep winning their big games in exciting fashion.
The AFC playoff race is going to come down to the wire in a number of races this year. The AFC North and South are particularly close while the AFC West looks to put three teams in the postseason. Here is how the AFC currently shapes up after Week 13…
