Kansas City Chiefs: Hot Takes From Sunday Vs Atlanta Falcons

Third Down: Pssh, We Don’t Even Need A Quarterback
There are some Kansas City Chiefs fans who just love to hate on quarterback Alex Smith. It provides a great mixture of frustration and humor for me. No, Alex Smith is not an elite quarterback who will routinely put up 300 yards and multiple touchdowns. However, he also is not a guy who is going to hand the game over to the other team with dumb mistakes *cough* Matt Ryan *cough*.
Of course, the best part of the Alex Smith hate (and the love he gets from supporters) is the level of hyperbole that comes with it. I mean, there are just some incredible things thrown out there whenever Smith is involved. I especially enjoy it when the same person posts a complete contradiction just minutes later…which is pretty commonplace when dealing with Alex Smith.

"Chiefs keep proving they don’t need Alex Smith to win."
Yeah, it’s not like Smith’s 21/25 for 270 yards and a touchdown really did anything for the Chiefs on Sunday. I mean c’mon, I can put up those kinds of numbers in just the first half on Madden. Oh wait, this is reality. Alex Smith was very good on Sunday and kept the Chiefs offense moving despite missing Jeremy Maclin again. Get over it.
