Second Down: So Easy, You Can Do It From Your Couch

It’s a habit for many Kansas City Chiefs fans to play the armchair coach role. It’s always easier to say a play call was bad when you have the benefit of hindsight. There’s also the little issue of not having any pressure to make the calls. Yet fans and some analysts continue to believe that their way is the best, or only, way.

That always seems to take place when it comes to the Chiefs. That is especially true for Andy Reid and Bob Sutton, who find themselves constantly under the microscope. Personally, I find it a little odd that these two are second-guessed so often. I mean, the Chiefs have four winning seasons in four years with this regime, plus a host of benchmark moments. You would think a little leeway had been bought by now.

"Prevent defense costs Chiefs three points. Sutton head scratcher!"

These are the tweets that make me smile. The Chiefs were facing one of the most high-powered, big play, offenses in the NFL. The Matt RyanJulio Jones connection is legit and dangerous. The Chiefs played to stop the deep ball and force the long field goal. As for the three points, Matt Bryant hit a 59 yard field goal. C’mon man, there are only about 5 kickers in the league who hit that.
