Kansas City Chiefs 2014 Season

Expectations were high for the Kansas City Chiefs 2014 season after a trip to the playoffs in 2013. Unfortunately, the Chiefs got off to a rocky start with some very key injuries ravaging the roster. Running back Jamaal Charles, linebacker Derrick Johnson, and defensive end Mike DeVito would all go down early with injuries. Johnson and DeVito were lost for the season. That was just the beginning.

Kansas City remained competitive though. The Chiefs had every reason to roll over and just give up in 2014. However, the team rallied and came back to deliver some very strong performances. Of special not that year were victories over the Patriots and Seahawks who would meet in the Super Bowl that season.

The Chiefs finished 9-7 and missed the playoffs. However, neither that or the injuries to Johnson and DeVito were the real big stories of 2014. No, the biggest storyline that year was Eric Berry being diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. All in all, despite a solid record, this was a season that Chiefs fans just wanted to forget.
