The Kansas City Chiefs pulled off a huge victory this week over the Denver Broncos. The victory puts the Chiefs in excellent position for the playoffs.
What a game! The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off of a huge victory on Sunday night against the defending champion Denver Broncos. An overtime field goal pushed the Chiefs to an 8-3 record and control of the Wild Card scenarios for the AFC playoffs. With a tough schedule still ahead of them, the importance of this victory cannot be overstated.
First and foremost, as I previously mentioned, the Chiefs are now sitting in control of the AFC Wild Card picture. As Kansas City continues to battle for the top spot in the AFC West, having the best record of all the teams in the Wild Card race is a good back pocket ticket. Keeping that edge ensures that the Chiefs end up in the postseason.
The Chiefs played the biggest game of the week because it had the biggest playoff implications. With their loss, the Denver Broncos have dropped behind the Miami Dolphins in the playoff hunt. That would be a huge change of fortune for the Broncos to be left on the outside after winning the Super Bowl last year.
12 teams are still in the hunt for 6 spots in the AFC Playoffs.

Kansas City can’t afford to take their foot off the gas for even a second. As it currently stands, all five of their remaining opponents are in the playoff picture. If the Chiefs make it to the postseason, there will be very little doubt that they have earned their spot. Every game is huge as the playoff race is very tight right now.
