Spencer Ware – RB

Projection: 17 Carries for 70+ yards and 1 TD; 3 Catches for 20+ yards

Fantasy Football owners may have been frustrated by Kansas City Chiefs running back Spencer Ware over the past couple of weeks. Ware has not gotten the use that was expected of him against some suspect rush defenses. Against a suspect Falcons defense, that may change this week.

The Falcons are not good at forcing their opponent off the field. They struggle against short passes and the run. Both are areas that the Chiefs build their offense around. Most notably, I see Spencer Ware getting opportunities close to the goal line to try and score. One of those should pan out against a Falcons defense that struggles in that regard.

Spencer Ware’s Fantasy Football value has fallen dramatically since the Chiefs lost starting LG Parker Ehinger. The Chiefs simply have not been able to run as well on the left side where Ware was making a big difference. He’s still a reliable second running back for your roster though. As a DFS play, I would normally keep my distance. However, against Atlanta he should be ok.
