Fantasy Football: Five Kansas City Chiefs To Play Vs Atlanta Falcons
By Ben Almquist
Alex Smith – QB
Projection: 23/30 for 250+ yards and 2 TDs; 3 Attempts for 20+ yards
Fantasy Football owners and Kansas City Chiefs fans have been notably frustrated with Alex Smith in recent weeks. The Chiefs signal caller hasn’t played his best ball as of late, and there have been numerous calls for him to be benched/cut/etc. However, Smith had himself a decent end to the game on Sunday night, leading three scoring drives to get the win.
The Falcons have not been good against the pass this year. To be more specific, the Falcons have been awful against short passes. Teams have been able to march down the field on them using quick hitters and short area routes. Sound familiar? On top of that, the Falcons will be without Desmond Trufant and Adrian Clayborn this week. That is a huge blow to the Atlanta defense.
Alex Smith is still a quality match up play in your Fantasy Football league. Keeping him on the bench is for the most part is the smart play, but he can be used in some situations when the match up is favorable. He has built up some momentum the past couple of weeks, so keep him handy against a bad Falcons defense.
