KC Chiefs: John Dorsey Has Done Well in Draft After All
I’ll gladly admit that I was wrong about John Dorsey not being able to draft well during his time in Kansas City. What looked like a failed first round pick in Dee Ford has now turned into one of the best pass rushers in the entire league.
When looking at Dorsey’s first round picks since he’s been here, he’s gone with Eric Fisher, Dee Ford, Marcus Peters, and though he wasn’t a first round pick, Chris Jones was the team’s first pick this year. All four of those guys are currently starting for the Chiefs.
Peters was a bit of a hot button debate when he was drafted because the guy had been kicked off his college team. He had an attitude problem in college, but has really put together two nice seasons of football for the Chiefs. He’s had his moments (punting the ball into the stands), but at the end of the day, he makes plays and you can’t ask for much more than that.
Sure, that 2013 draft hasn’t looked too hot, but that was his first go at trying to build a team. Fisher and Kelce are still a big part of the team though, and Kelce has even become sort of the face of the franchise during his four years in town.

What do you think of the drafts so far, Chiefs Kingdom? Has John Dorsey done a good enough job or do you think you could build a better team?
